BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) – A 65-year-old woman and a dog have died after a house fire Thursday in Bristol, according to officials.

Officials said the fire occurred on Pequabuck Street and confirmed with News 8 on the scene that a woman and her dog were pulled from the fire and died.

On Monday, authorities identified the woman as Elizabeth Perera. Her cause of death has not yet been determined, and the fire department stated that she will undergo an autopsy.

No other injuries were reported and it is unclear how many people occupied the home.

The fire marshal is investigating the fire. Preliminary information points to the fire originating from the kitchen or living room area of the home.
