Jean K. Masotti

Jean King Masotti, 84, of Bristol, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 2, 2022. Jean was born in Flushing Long Island, New York, daughter of the late Adelaide Carpenter King and Francis King. Sharing 61 years of marriage, Jean leaves her husband Joseph Masotti. She attended local schools, graduated from Bristol High School in 1955, and Arcadia University in Glenside, PA where she earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education in 1959. While in college Jean was very active in student government and was elected “Who’s Who” in American Colleges and Universities in 1958.

Jean, known as “Mrs. Masotti” to hundreds of elementary school children in grades 1, 2, and 3 in the Bristol school system for over 35 years. Education was extremely important to her, with gentle encouragement, patience, and commitment she touched the lives of so many students in Bristol. Jean was a member of The Friends of the Library, The Bristol Historical Society and The Delta Kappa Gamma Society of Educators for over 35 years.
Jean had a passion for gardening, was an avid swimmer and shared her love of books with both her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent her retirement years traveling the country with her husband Joe.

In addition to her husband Joe, Jean leaves three children, Lori Tracy and her husband John, Susan Hahn and her husband Evan, Thomas Masotti and his wife Alison; grandchildren Melissa Trindade, Meghan Dean, Joseph Tracy, James Hahn, and Thomas Masotti Jr., along with her great grandchildren Joshua Trindade Jr., Mea Trindade, Paxton Dean, and Sophia Hahn and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Hamel.

The visiting hours will be Thursday, April 7th from 4 to 6:30 PM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 6:30 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Friends of the Bristol Library or The Bristol Historical Society.
