We’re celebrating National Poetry Month in true Bristol fashion! Join us for dramatic readings of poetry published by Bristol’s historic poets, followed by readings from modern Bristolites and our area neighbors.
o All ages welcome to submit poems
o If poets are uncomfortable reading their work on camera/in front of an
audience, the History Librarian will read their work instead.
o Submit up to 2 poems to read at the event
o Family friendly program – no profanity or explicit adult content
o Send submissions to bristolhistory@bristolct.gov with the Poet’s Name and
who will be reading their poems
o Last day to submit: April 9, 2021

Pasta Dinner Fundraiser to Benefit Charity: Water and the Ukraine Solidarity Fund

This year’s Fundraiser Event hosted by TEAM CLEAN WATER and the
Bristol Palos Council #35 Knights of Columbus is being held at:
ST. GREGORY CCD CENTER
1043 Stafford Ave.
Bristol, CT 06010
There are so many bad things going on in the world, so this year we decided to have a dual fundraiser. The net proceeds will be split between the two following organizations.
Charity: Water
Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean! Many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Everyday about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.
Ukraine Solidarity Fund (supported by the Knights of Columbus Charities)
Your gift to the Ukraine Solidarity Fund will provide temporary shelter, food, medical supplies, and clothing. These items will all be immediately distributed, and 100% of your gift will go directly to these displaced people.
We are having a Pasta Dinner “Fundraiser” to help Charity: Water and the Ukraine Solidarity Fund. We’re serving Pasta, Meatballs, Salad, Bread, and Coffee.
There’s no feeling in the world that can outweigh how one feels after helping others who are less fortunate. TEAM CLEAN WATER and The Knights of Columbus team up again... a lot of good is being done with having fun in the process. Thank you!
Tickets available: Adults: $10.00 donation, Kids (under 10): $5.00 donation. We welcome your help in selling tickets. We also need help collecting raffle prizes for our event.

Saturday, April 23, 2022 any time from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm or any time that works for you to clean up your corner of Bristol.
Join your neighbors and friends to help clean up several areas throughout the City:
Riverside Avenue
Veterans Memorial Boulevard Park
The West End Neighborhood
Along the Railroad Tracks on North Main Street and Main Street
Forestville Village and Along the Pequabuck River
Your Neighborhood!
Clean Up Day supplies will be available for pickup on the day of the event anytime between 8:00 and 10:00 am or while supplies last at the Parks, Recreation, Youth & Community Services Office, located at 51 High Street. Supplies will include garbage bags, t-shirt, and safety guidelines. You are encouraged to provide your own gloves..
Ideal for civic organizations, Scout Troops, or school groups interested in volunteering or who may need community service credit. | |
