City of Bristol Historian Tom Dickau will lead this walk along the Pequabuck River through Memorial Boulevard Park. He will talk about the river's historic uses and landmarks. Join us for this fun and informative walk along our hard-working river.

Bristol Community CleanUP Day 2023

Celebrate Earth Day and join the City of Bristol for a Community Clean up Day on Saturday, April 22, 2023 any time from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm or any time that works for you to clean up your corner of Bristol!

Join your neighbors and friends to help clean up several areas throughout the City:

Riverside Avenue
Veterans Memorial Boulevard Park
The West End Neighborhood
Along the railroad tracks on North Main Street and Main Street
Forestville Village and along the Pequabuck River
Your own neighborhood!
Clean Up Day supplies* will be available for pick up on the day of the event any time between 8:00 and 10:00 AM or while supplies last at the Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services Office, located at 51 High Street. Supplies will include garbage bags, gloves, t-shirt, and safety guidelines.

This event is ideal for civic organizations, scout troops, or school groups interested in volunteering or who may need community service credit.

The Bristol Public Library and the Bristol Water and Sewer Department are partnering to arrange a special Earth Day showing of the locally produced short film Journey of Our Water.” The film was created by the Water & Sewer Department to inform residents about the importance of the water cycle and it’s impact on our Bristol community.

The showing screening will be followed by Q & A.

FREE COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic
APRIL 22 @ 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Free COVID-19 vaccines will be offered at Rockwell Park – Mrs. Rockwell’s Pavilion every Saturday beginning Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 12 pm to 6 pm.

No appointments needed – FREE to everyone and all ages.

Please bring a health insurance card and photo ID if you have them, but is is not necessary to have health insurance or ID to receive the vaccine. No one will be turned away for lack of insurance or ID.

Vaccines will be provided by Griffin Health in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Public Health.

Free health screening will also be offered at this clinic: diabetes risk testing, A1C testing, and blood pressure.
